My Dear Parish Family,

Merry Christmas!

Oh how I pray that the fullness of grace that came to us that blessed Christmas morn fills your heart and soul!

May the light of the star that Christmas night illuminate every corner of your heart that experiences any kind of darkness or struggle.

May the quiet peace of the holy family embracing each other in that wondrous moment of holding the newborn Christ, now embrace you and all those you love!

On that night, and every day since, God has made it possible for us to be reborn, to be made new.

God has made it possible for us to love, without measure, as God has loved us.

God has made it possible for us to forgive and to be forgiven.

God has brought the source of peace to break through the chaos, uncertainty, fear and despair of this world.

God has brought healing, hope and justice to a world mortally wounded by sin.

God has made it possible for us to live forever in heaven.

Today we celebrate all that is now possible, because of Jesus!

Do you remember the hope that is yours? Do you allow God to make these good things possible in your life?

I encourage you to be faithful to the God who is always faithful to you!

The most important action a disciple can choose is to follow the command of Jesus to “do this in memory of me” – to be present at Sunday Eucharist and to ‘become’ eucharist for the world.

That is to say, bring the Word of God into your heart to shape and form all of your actions!

To worthily receive Jesus in Holy Communion so that you might live in him and he might live in you!

To allow yourself to be ‘broken and shared’ in service and love of family, friends and even strangers – as Jesus does.

To understand and interpret the events of your life, through the lens of the scriptures and the life of Jesus.

To engage with your sisters and brothers in the community who are struggling like you to be holy; to encourage them, support them and let them know they are not alone, but with you, members of the family of God!

God has made all of this possible through Jesus, the Christ, the child of Bethlehem, the worker of miracles, the hope of sinners, the Lord who was crucified, died and was buried, and who rose from the dead, the one and only Savior of the world!

It is possible, but it is also up to you. Each of us must choose this life, we must allow God to do this work in us.

On behalf of Fr. Tony and myself, our wonderful deacons and their wives, our staff, those who serve in our ministries and outreach, our school ministry, faculty, administration and staff, and our seminarian intern, Joseph I wish you a blessed and holy Christmas!

May God fill your soul with grace, light, peace, hope and love!

I wish you the peace of Jesus, our newborn King. – Fr. Ed
